On May 6th, The Retreat At Illinois team hosted a Reading Day Event where residents were able to take a finals study break. All they had to do was stop by the clubhouse to participate in a balloon pop and win wall while getting to enjoy some free Chick-fil-A!
Reading day is an annual day that the University of Illinois gives students a day off from classes to prepare for finals. The Retreat noticed how residents were spending more time than they usually do in the Clubhouse that week studying and preparing for finals. We figured a great way to give students a break from studying for finals by giving them free Chick-fil-A and allowing them to win some fun items!
The event was scheduled to start at 3:00 PM in the Clubhouse, residents started showing up by 2:45 PM to make sure they were in line for Chick-fil-A. When they showed up, they were surprised with a balloon pop and win wall! Residents were able to grab their food, get in line, grab a pin, and pop whichever balloon they wanted. Once the balloon popped, a small piece of paper would fall out listing off their prize. Residents were able to win items like coffee mugs, t-shirts, cups, yoga mats, pots and pans set, a steamer and a sandwich maker. Everyone who showed up was a winner!
Resident events are a fantastic way to make sure everyone feels like they are a part of our community and we sure do love hosting them!
